Intestinal Embolization for Bleeding Secondary to Crohn's

Young female with a history of Crohn's disease with a complaint of intestinal bleeding. Angiography was requested to identify the source of bleeding and for possible embolization.

Two images from a selective injection into jejunal branches of the superior mesenteric artery demonstrate an area of extravasation (arrows).

 

Two images after embolization with polyvinyl alcohol particles. The bleeding has resolved angiographically, and later, from the clinical standpoint.
