IVC Filter Mis-deployment

Unmagnified and magnified views of an inferior cavogram after "deployment" of a filter. The filter is not fully expanded, with the most inferior end within the right gonadal vein. Prolonged efforts at reconstraining and repositioning the filter were not successful. A mis-deployed filter is ineffective at trapping clot.

A second filter was successfully deployed in the more superior cava.
